Day 01, Sept. 06, 2010, Mon.: Arrive in Zagreb
Upon arrival to Zagreb meet and greet. Transfer to hotel. Have dinner in a local restaurant. (D,O)
Day 02, Sept. 07, 2010, Tues.: Zagreb - Ljubljana - Bled
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning guided tour to explore some of the highlights of gracious Zagreb. Visit the upper old town and see St. Stephen's Cathedral and St. Marks Church. Journey through the lush countryside and cross the nearby border to the Republic of Slovenia. Arrive in the thriving capital of Ljubljana where you'll explore the unique architecture and admire the work of Joze Plecnik, a 20th century architect and Ljubljana native, that made significant contribution to restoring the city that suffered from a devastating earthquake in 1895. You'll also see some buildings that survived the earthquake and still stand in the charming historic old town. The old town is dotted with small shops and numerous outdoor cafes and restaurants. Stroll along the riverside promenade and visit the bustling and colorful open air market. This afternoon proceed to the enchanting resort town of Lake Bled, situated on the lakeshore and surrounded by the majestic Julian Alps. (B, D,O)
Day 03, Sept. 08, 2010, Wed.: Bled - Postojna - Opatija
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning take a guided stroll around emerald-green Lake Bled. You'll also visit the Bled Castle perched high on the cliff above the lake. Slovenia's Pastoral countryside unfolds as you depart Lake Bled today to the mysterious Postojna caves, the second largest in Europe. Here, ride a train to view the impressive stalagmites and stalactites. Later, proceed to the fashionable riviera town of Opatija, arriving at your seaside hotel in time for dinner. Day 04, Sept. 09, 2010, Thur.: Opatija - Plitvice Lakes
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning enjoy orientation tour of Opatija, after that proceed to Plitvice Lakes. Upon arrival, have your camera ready and take a walking tour around several of the Lower Lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder of 16 terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation. (B, D, O)
Day 05, Sept. 10, 2010, Fri.: Plitvice Lake - Zadar
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning departure to Zadar. Afternoon orientation tour of Zadar including view of Roman Forum ruins and St. Donat Church. (B, D,O)
Day 06, Sept. 11, 2010, Sat.: Zadar - Trogir
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at leisure. In the afternoon drive to Trogir. Upon arrival sightseeing tour including views of Trogir Cathedral. (B, D, O)
Day 07, Sept. 12, 2010, Sun.: Trogir - Split - Trogir
Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Split. Located in the center of the Dalmatian Coast and nestled between the mountains and sea, Split is a picturesque ancient town built by the Roman Emperor Diocletian. On your guided tour, visit the impressive Emperor's Palace built in the 3rd century. After the tour you have some free time. Afternoon return back to Trogir. Have dinner in a local restaurant. Day 08, Sept. 13, 2010, Mon.: Trogir - Split - Hvar
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive back to Split. Board the ferry and travel to Stari Grad. Upon arrival to Stari Grad, transfer to Hvar city. Afternoon orientation tour of Hvar including views of the Fortress. Dinner in local restaurant. (B, D, O)
Day 09, Sept. 14, 2010, Tue.: Hvar - Dubrovnik
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning transfer to Sucuraj and board the ferry to Drvenik. Continue south and arrive to Dubrovnik in the afternoon. Afternoon sightseeing tour of Dubrovnik including a visit to Franciscan Monastery. Have dinner in a local restaurant. (B, D, O)
Day 10, Sept. 15, 2010, Wed.: Dubrovnik - Montenegro Excursion
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, drive across the border to the Republic of Montenegro and the beautiful bay of Kotor. The longest and deepest fjord in southern Europe. See the towns of Risan and Kotor located along the curving roadway. Enjoy as breathtaking view of the bay and learn about the rich history of the area. Proceed to Cetinje, once the seat for the Montenegran rulers. Return to Dubrovnik via a short ferry ride across the scenic bay. (B, D, O)
Day 11, Sept. 16, 2010, Thur.: Depart Dubrovnik
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Dubrovnik airport. (B)
